BassCat Dealer Pricing Application

General Information

In this age of Information, you have certainly worked with web sites before. There are many different types of sites that make use of your Internet connection to perform an almost unlimited number of services and allow you to access volumes of content. This site was developed for the purpose of centralizing information and delivering that information in a uniform and expedient fashion.

This site makes use of both server-side (PHP) and client-side (JavaScript) technology found in most modern browsers. If you disable your browser's ability to process scripts or store 'Cookies', you will not be able to use this site.

Most of the navigation between pages can be done with buttons provided in this web application; therefore, it is strongly recommended that you do not use your browser's BACK button. In some cases, it will lead to duplicate quotes or a forced logout.

Your progress is being tracked through out the site by using a 'Cookie' stored on your computer that matches the information stored on the server. This 'Cookie' is generated upon entering the site and remains yours until you logout or your session expires (8 hours). The login 'Cookie' information contains random letters and numbers and no other personal information.

The information stored in this site is a convenience offered by BassCat and should not be your only copy. While we make every reasonable effort to maintain your quoted data, it is ultimately your responsibility to keep any quotes important to you.

Logging In

Your login is provided by BassCat and consists of both a username and password. Your username and password will be a combination of letters and number, no special characters. For instance, if your dealer name is "Green's Marine", your username will most likely be "Greens Marine".

This site also has a security module for multiple failed logins. If you have tried to login to your account and are unsuccessful, please call our office (or e-mail) to request your account to be unlocked. Ten or more attempts will also block your IP address, so please contact us after 3 tries to save yourself some aggravation.

Upon a successful login, you will be forwarded to the "Main Menu" where you are able to view Rick's most recent note, quote a package boat or DPP, retrieve a previously saved quote, download buyer discount forms, view console compatibility or end your session by logging out.

Quoting a Boat

To begin a new quote, you must choose a boat package or the DPP from the Main Menu. Once you have selected your boat, step through each section of the form selecting the equipment you or the customer requires.

Some of your checkbox selections will change into a text box with a quantity selection. This means that you are able to order 1 or more of the item. If you wish to remove an item which has a quantity, simply replace the value with a zero "0".

At any point of the equipment selection process, you can see the current boat price by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking the words "Show Total".

After you have made all customizations, you are now able to proceed to the "Dealer Quote" or "Customer Quote" pages. These pages condense the information down into a printable format and save the data for retrieval.

If you were only needing a quote amount and do not need to store the quote data, you may click the "Main Menu" button at the bottom of the form to leave this page.

Retrieving a Quote

If you saved your quote using a customer name, you are able to retrieve it by choosing "Customer Search" from the Main Menu. Upon entering the page, you will see you have the option to choose a date range and enter a customer name. Only customer name is require and it will match any part of the name.

For instance, you may have saved 20 John Smith customers and would like to only see the one from June of this year. By entering the date range, the name "John" (without quotes), and pressing the Search button, you will have a good chance of recalling the correct quote for your customer.

On this page of search results, you will see an "X" button the far left side next to the date of the quote. By clicking this "X", you can remove this quote from the system. It may be useful if a customer quotes a few different boats to eliminate the quotes they did not accept.

Once you have located your customer's quote, click on their name to open the quote in the Quote Sheet. The system will place all of the equipment into the Quote Sheet as you had saved it. You may now modify the equipment and/or proceed to the appropriate Dealer or Customer quote page.

Remember: Click the "Update Final Total" button at the bottom of the page to save any equipment, discounts, prices, or name changes.

Walk Through

  1. Start with price program by selecting a boat model from the Main Menu.
  2. Select all items by clicking the box next to the item. On some items a drop box will appear; click your choice. Items you see with a check box and $0.00 are some of the larger standard items. If you click a box and a 1 appears, you can leave the 1 and you have selected 1 of those items. If you want 2 of those items, then put your cursor behind the 1 and hit backspace and enter the number 2 and you have then selected 2 of that item. When your selections are complete, you must hit the blue "Show Total" button at the bottom of the screen. That is the equal button. That must be done! Once a total appears, you can hit Dealer Quote.
  3. The Dealer Quote page is the price from BCB to you, the dealer. If you want to save, you must put a name in the Customer Name field (either Stock #1, #2, and so on, or a customer name.) Then at the bottom of the page, in the discount area, put your cursor behind the zero and put "12" if that is your discount number. If paying cash, put the cursor behind zero, click, and put "3". Then when finished you must hit the Update Final Total button. That is the equals button on that page. Then you can proceed to Customer Quote and enter any sales price you desire. Same for Preliminary Invoice if you want.
Note: If you go back to change something on the price sheet, for example, going from 2 power poles to 1, you must go down and hit the blue Show Total button for the changes to be done. If the Show Total is not in blue, click anywhere in the white area of the screen and it will turn blue, then hit the Show Total button and all of the fill-in sheets will adjust automatically.
